30 Years

Unhappy 30th birthday to my first ever TN attack, it came in disguise as a toothache. It was the most excruciating pain attack I've ever had, outside coming off Gabapentin. I was in the barracks of Charlie Company 124 Signal Battalion. I was on the floor doing something, I stood and collapsed onto my bed in utter agony. I was in the fetal position, I don't remember much but keeping my hand on my throbbing left temple. I could feel the pain pulsate in perfect rhythm of my throbbing vein.

An Army dentist removed the tooth on March 2, 1987, however, the "headaches" continued. They disappeared in the summer only to return in the winter. The pain came back and forth in various disguises over the next twenty years until the spring of 2007 when it mercilessly struck my left eye.
